flights are all checked in. been printing lonely planet guides for denmark & sweden this morning for the boys. plan to get norway printed tomorrow as this one is the most important. although i might just go to the shops and buy it!!!!!
megs has left for london now so if she has forgotten anything then tough luck!
need to pack tonight and get ready for stickering up & grafitti-ing the car tomorrow!
aaaagh! everyone is feeling a little tense now! once we are away it will be fine tho!

sleeping bags
in the last few minutes i have been informed that malcolm and i are now sorted for sleeping bags! woo!
now just gloves and stereo!

4 days to go........!
So, the trip is getting closer and closer now! eek! this time in 4 days and the boys will be setting off with the car to catch the ferry at Newcastle. They are taking the car over for the rally and Megs & i are flying to meet them.
Excitment has really started setting in now!
Car is due for collection tonight i think. Malcolm & Ellis are going to be getting some valuable lessons in fixing some bits n pieces.
The car needed a couple of things done (not sure what but i will update once i know!)
Also needs to get tax'd & insured! eek!
We have NO working stereo tho! This is a bit of a disaster!!! Malcolm has sold a couple of old cars in the last few weeks so in hindsight we should have pinched one out of one of those vehicles! Never mind.
We maybe need to investigate some little speakers for ipods that will last a long time on batteries! mmmmmm..............................
Almost all set for it now. Ellis has all suitable snow gear since he is a snowboarder, but the rest of us did not have ANY appropriate attire for this type of thing!
We have managed to get some great ebay bargains on ski suits & boots. and stocked up on thermals, hats, fleeces etc etc etc.
Megs and Ellis are sorted with proper season 4 sleeping bags.
Malcolm and i still need to get sleeping bags and gloves. Been searching for gloves for days now and i do not want to pay £25 or £40 so i am being stubborn. Really need to get some tho!
I think i am nominated blogger for the trip. Which is fine because that means i am not nominated as car fixer or accommodation organiser OR in charge of budget! haha!
I will try my best to keep up to date daily but it all depends on internet cafes! We have a good camera, massive memory card and a USB card reader so hopefully can get pics up as we go along our trip.
Weather is still looking pretty chilly and snowy. We were getting very strange looks hanging out our ski wear to dry on the washing line in the garden at the weekend. Especially since we got wee sun burnt noses from the beautiful weather! haha! Oh well! Hopefully the nice weather will be here when we get back!

the old beast
so the old beast never got its health check at the weekend, but it should be going to the garage today....fingers crossed
the sooner the car has been checked, insured & tax'd the sooner we can get onto decorating it in rally stickers & peoples names!
the collection of thermals & ski wear is now well on its way!!! waterproof footwear is next on the list!
less than 2 weeks to go now! and the weather isnt letting up yet in Norway! eek!

More Team Pics & Rally Status info
some more team pics: one of the team requested a better pic so there you go!
the old beast should this weekend be getting carted off to a garage for tyres & a wee health check. fingers crossed it doesnt need too much done! more pics to follow of our transportation..............
still watching the weather in Norway: still snow & ice! lovely! its april! some roads still closed! we may need to be looking at alternative routes & towns so no accommodation will be organised until we are pretty much there.
We are on the lookout for thermal bargains (all of us except our resident snowboarder Ellis who has all necessary clothing!). got to hit the outdoor shops for some stuff! If anyone has any suggestions / recommendations as to where we should look for suitable things please let us know.
